MYB Injury and Mental Health Day Policies
MYB Injury Policy
-
All injuries must be reported to Admin. Please keep us updated throughout the duration of your injury so that we can best support you.
-
We strongly recommend seeing a doctor for any injury and getting a comprehensive treatment plan.
-
Please reach out to any faculty member for guidance on modifying class for an injury or as you return from injury.
-
In the case of an injury which requires a student to temporarily refrain from dancing, it is up to the student to decide if they wish to continue attending class to observe, or remain home, or a combination of the two. We understand that physical injuries are challenging mentally as well, and observing class is not always the best option.
-
As you return from injury to classes, MYB faculty will suggest a plan-to-return, which may include classes at a lower level and/or additional private lessons with faculty.
-
We do not permit discrimination against or repercussions for students taking care of an injury. Casting changes due to injury will only be made if the injury requires the dancer to miss too many rehearsals and/or causes them to clearly fall behind in learning/ executing the choreography competently and confidently or if the injury limits their physical ability to perform (this would be discussed with students prior to casting).
MYB Mental Health Day Policy
-
Mental health days are allowed to our students with a no-questions-asked policy.
-
All we ask is that you inform us of your absence and that you will be taking a mental health day. This is only to ensure that we know where you are and that you are safe.
-
If you need to leave in the middle of a class or between classes you may either
-
Stop by the office and let a staff or faculty member know (this is ideal if possible for you in the moment)
