SPRING WORKSHOP

The Spring Workshop is the culmination of a rehearsal process that begins with the Winter Workshop Intensive in January each year. This is an opportunity for our students to learn selections from classical masterpieces, the works of the great George Balanchine, and new contemporary works, as well as to have new ballets created on them.

Past performances have included excerpts from:

Balanchine's Western Symphony
Marina Stavitskaya's Let's Dance

Balanchine's Episodes
Sleeping Beauty
Balanchine's A Midsummer Night's Dream
The Ugly Duckling by Lise la Cour
Balanchine's Stars and Stripes
Jerome Robbins' Circus Polka

Excerpt from Balanchine's The Four Temperaments
World Premiere by Choreographer-in-Residence Brian Reeder
World Premieres by Earl Mosley
World Premiere by Liz Gerring

World Premieres by Natalia Boesch
& premieres by MYB student choreographers

Spring Workshop is an optional performance opportunity for MYB students only. Registration opens in December; no audition is necessary. The initial Winter Workshop week takes place in early January and is required for participation in the Spring Performance. A Workshop fee applies.

This year's Winter Workshop will take place from January 2nd-6th with Spring Workshop Performances March 8-10, 2024.
